Remembrance Day is just around the corner. The question is, how are you going to observe it? I say observe it as opposed to celebrate it, because although it is a holiday, there is little to celebrate about the day. This is a day that gives us the opportunity to think about those who have given their lives to ensure that we have freedom, not only here in Canada, but around the world as well. Maybe as a newcomer, you can take some time this November 11, to learn about this day, that Canada has been observing since November 11, 1918. Also, maybe as a nation, we can take the opportunity this coming November 11, to think about all the victims of war. We can remember the millions of innocent men, women and children who have perished in wars around the world, as well as our own fallen soldiers.
